You must first install the Yahoo! Widget application in order to run Yahoo! Widgets. You can download the Widget engine application, you can do so by clicking on & installing the link belowhttp://widgets.yahoo.com/gallery/dl_item.php?item=YahooWidgets.exeWhen the installation is finished, make sure that "Launch Yahoo! Widgets" is checked, then click "Close." Our very brief welcome screens will appear and offer a few tips. It's an easy way to quickly get acquainted. Take the Widgets Tour, if you're up for it. Next simply double-click on our widget file - ChangeReport-Widget-Nov11.widget - and confirm that you want to [Use Widget] and it should launch to your desktop How do I close individual Widgets? You close a Widget by control-clicking it in Apple OS X or right-clicking it in Microsoft Windows and choosing Close Widget.If you can't get the menu to appear on a particular Widget, follow these steps:Close the dock. Either right-click the gear icon in the Widows system tray or click the gear icon in the OS X system menu. Hold down the Control key. Choose the name of the Widget in the menu.
Mac Install How-to How do I install Yahoo! Widgets? You must first install the Yahoo! Widget Engine application in order to run Yahoo! Widgets. You can download the Widget application and a starter set of Widgets from widgets.yahoo.com. Note that some installations require an administrator's ID and password, depending on your privileges. Download both the installer and the zipped file of starter Widgets. Launch the installer. After installation, do not start Yahoo! Widgets. Unzip the starter Widget zip into My Documents\My Widgets for Microsoft Windows. For Apple OS X, unzipping puts a Widgets folder on the desktop; to install the set, drag the folder to Documents. The Widget Dock is a column of mini-Widget icons that initially appears at the right edge of the desktop. It's a handy at-a-glance way of keeping on top of the information or entertainment the Widget handles. The dock can be at at the top, bottom, left, or right edge of the desktop.With the mode setting, you configure which Widgets the Dock displays: all possible Widgets or only those widgets that are actively working on your desktop. On a 1400 by 1050 pixel screen, the dock can show a row of up to 16 Widgets. When you move the cursor to the dock, it displays two additional areas of clickable icons. At the top or left, there is a gear icon for a settings menu, a magnifiying glass icon for Yahoo! Search, and a plus or a minus sign for the mode setting. At the bottom or right there is space for navigation icons for scrolling between rows or columns of mini-Widgets.
