Canada Post Helps Direct Marketers Be Responsible Print E-mail

Canada Post is helping Marketers make smarter decisions when it comes to direct mail at canadapost.ca/green. Some of the suggestions in this nationwide initiative include updating and maintaining accurate databases, choosing socially responsible paper products and inks, downsizing pieces, reducing overruns and taking advantage of electronic communications.


Canadian residents have also taken a giant step towards conservation with the Red Dot Campaign. If a resident no longer wishes to receive unwanted junk mail, they can apply a “No Admail” or “No Junk Mail” sticker to their mailbox.

 

In its first Corporate Social Responsibility Report, written in 2007, Canada Post detailed many programs and initiatives to increase the use of environmentally friendly products and reduce the use of paper with electronic services to consumers. The report also touches on initiatives for a cleaner future, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, green building designs, and landfill waste diversion.
