In order for sustainability to last, profitability needs to be considered. That's why innovation software companies like Invention Machine and Imaginatik assist companies in making their products greener while preserving their profit structure. For instance, Imaginatik reportedly assisted Wal-Mart in some of their environmentally friendly initiatives that saved the company $38 million and the ideas were provided by Wal-Mart employees.  

Steve Di Biase, senior vice president and chief scientific officer for JohnsonDiversey, a cleaning products company says, “If you can’t be profitable, sustainability doesn’t make sense”.
