Renewable Energy Tax Credit One Step Closer |

Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Renewable Energy and Job Creation Act of 2008. The bill extends the production tax credit for one year, extends tax credit for six years, and approves $2 billion for new clean renewable energy bonds to finance renewable energy facilities.
The tax extension will now be heard on the Senate floor and some observers are concerned about the uphill battle the bill faces. Chris Stimpson, executive campaigner for the grassroots advocacy organization Solar Nation feels that this is the bill's last chance to extend tax incentives as so many similar bills have failed in the past.
