UPS Increases Number of Hybrid Trucks |

UPS has already been using hybrid trucks in it's U.S. Green Fleet, now they are increasing their fleet - the company will go from 50 to 250 trucks on the road. UPS expects that the hybrid trucks will save the company 176,000 gallons of fuel a year and reduce CO2 emissions by 1,786 metric tons each year. The CO2 emissions are equivalent to taking 100 UPS trucks off the road for one year.
It seems that with the rise in gas and diesel prices, packaging delivery companies are looking at alternatives. UPS is not the only company that is looking at hybrid trucks. Coke announced back in November that it would add 120 hybrid electric rucks to their U.S. fleet this year.
