Last week, JCPenney announced a new label for it's existing in house brand of clothing and houseware products. The new label is titled, Simply Green and highlights products in three categories: organic, renewable and recycled. The products with the new label will be available at all of JCPenny department stores (1,074) and labels will be clearly visible identifying the products as Simply Green. As well, there will be special zones in the store for the products.  

JCPenney has strict guidelines for products to meet the organic, renewable and recycled standards. For the organic seal of approval, products must be made with a minimum of 70% organic raw materials. Renewable labels will be provided to products that are made from at least 25% renewable materials such as bamboo, soy or wood. And recycled seals will be provided to products that are made with at least 25% recycled materials such as cotton, glass or polyester.
