How big? The Home Depot Foundation has shown it's commitment to Habitat for Humanity by pledging $30 million to assist them in building 5,000 energy efficient and sustainable homes. The money will provide the resources to building approximately 17 percent of all homes built by Habitat for Humanity over the next five years.   

The program will initially start with a pilot project lasting one year. The partnership will be with 30 Habitat affiliates to gauge the impact of the program in all sorts of climates and in both rural and urban areas.
