Sony Recycles Ads To Remind Consumers to Recycle |

Sony is increasing its recycling efforts by bringing back ads from the past. What kind of ads? The famous 80's ads - the boy playing his piano with a large cassette tape deck clearly presented or a dad lovingly videotaping his child playing outside - the video recorder, a huge camera with the carrying case (resembling a suitcase) over his shoulder. Why the vintage ads? Sony is encouraging its consumers to recycle their old electronics by recycling their old ads.
Anyone interested in dropping off old electronics can do so at a variety of spots for free. Sony has established 100 drop off points (in the U.S.) for its e-waste recycling. Initially, Sony launched its green initiative last August and the campaign has produced over 1,000 tons of recycled electronic waste. Read the full story at Advertising Age |
