'The Toxic 10' Includes Ford, Boeing and Apple Print E-mail

Condé Nast Portfolio put out their "The Toxic Ten" which looks at some of the largest U.S. corporations with the worst environmental records. Most of the corporations listed cite the things they are doing to be greener, however Portfolio stated, ""These are merely companies that we think could be doing better, given their resources and position in their industries." Companies named include Fort Motor Company, Boeing and Apple. 

Ford was named due to them having the worst fleettwide gas mileage ratings; Boeing was included as they will not make public their data on its carbon emissions; and Apple (the sole technology company) made the list for its limited computer take back program as well as including polyvinyl chloride and brominates flame retardants in the iPhone. Portfolio also names the 11 corporations that it sees as the greenest. The list was all encompassing and included companies such as Bank of America, General Electric, Starbucks, Whole Foods and Wal-Mart.
