Purchasers of Hewlett Packard printers will qualify, before Apr. 30, for unique carbon offset credit from Climate Positive. Working with Climate Positive, a not-for-profit organization that builds renewable energy projects around the country, HP will pay for the carbon credit value over the life span of its LaserJet printer line.
"For example, a black and white LaserJet printer which handles 32 pages per minute would probably have 1.8 tonnes of CO2 over its five-year lifespan," HP South Pacific environment manager Annukka Dickens said. The current market rate from Climate Positive is $20 per tones. HP and its customers will be investing in Climate Positive programs while lowering their environmental impact up until Apr. 30.
