Super Bowl Powered By Green Energy Print E-mail

The Super Bowl was the first ever to be powered completely with renewable energy. The use of solar, wind and geo-thermal energy offset the GHG emissions. In addition, the Salt River project also committed to offset the emissions for all the events leading up to the game and for some of the hotels where Super Bowl guests would be staying. Lori Singleton of Salt River Project stated that in order to offset the GHG, “they decided to plant trees in forest areas that were burned by fires”.
