Heinz Corporate Social Responsibility Report Print E-mail

Heinz has released its 2007 Corporate Social Responsibility Report. The report shows Heinz green side such as their promotion of sustainable initiatives through innovative packaging. For instance, Heinz glass ketchup bottles are now manufactured using 100% post-consumer reground and recycled glass. Whereas Heinz soups are packed in lighter cans (in the UK). This helps reduce consumption of steel and tinplate by 1,400 tons annually.

Heinz also reported that they are managing waste, water and energy to achieve significant reductions in resource use and greenhouse gas emissions. The Company reports that since 2005 they have saved nearly 3 million cubic meters of water at its global manufacturing operations, reduced its landfill waste by 359,573 tons and decreased its energy usage by 1,031,304 gigajoules.
