ACE Hardware of Lake Oswego is providing all kinds of green products to their customers and presenting as a great model for sustainability. In a recent green week initiative, Ace Hardware in Lake Oswego had their shelves pact with various products intended for sustainable living. The products included Mrs. Meyer's line of cleaning products, Bag to Nature eco friendly trash bags, Fresh Wave - a natural solution to pet odours, and Energy Star Lightbulbs that are energy efficient and help the environment. Aces also started the Eco Lights Program - the store provides bins and boxes where customers can drop off compact flourescent lights and batteries for recycling.
Ace Hardware reports that they are meeting the needs of their customers by providing eco friendly products and their pace to sustainability has increased steadily. As Gary Chek, community relations director for Ace Hardware stated, "If every American home replaced just one light bulb or fixture with an Energy Star product, we would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes, save more than $600 million in energy costs, and prevent greenhouse gasses equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars.” Read the full articleat Sustainable Life |
