Daimler is promoting measures for drastically reducing the emissions and fuel consumption of commercial vehicles. To mark the launch of the Shaping Future Transportation initiative.

More than 3,000 Daimler commercial vehicles employing alternative drive systems and fuels in use by customers

- Global leader on the market for hybrid commercial vehicles
- Customers to test Mercedes-Benz Atego BlueTec Hybrid and Citaro G BlueTec Hybrid beginning in 2008
- European customers to conduct fleet tests with ten Canter Eco Hybrids from 2008
- Production of 1,500 Freightliner M2 Hybrids over the next three years
- Fuels from biomass to be used in fleet tests starting in 2008
