Marriott and Hilton Drop Styro-Based Products |

Mariott and Hilton have both announced plans to eliminate all Styrofoam products from their hotels. Marriot International headquarters says it will replace 20 tonnes of Styrofoam and plastic cutlery annually, replacing them with those made of potato, corn starch and sugarcane.
Employees at Marriott headquarters will receive free reusable to-go mugs and water bottles in an effort to encourage conservation. The Hilton Garden Inn will introduce the Ecotainer from International Paper – the only all-natural hot beverage cup, coated with a corn-based plastic. Read the full article at Environmental Leader |
