Microsoft has launched MSN green, an environmental news site for consumers which will be supported by MSNBC, The Daily Green, Conservation International, Environmental Defence, Grist, Treehugger and StopGlobalWarming.

Microsoft claims that the success of the Live Earth concert was what sparked the idea for the site; their feed of Live Earth generated 15 million streams on that day, more than the number of television viewers.
