Clorox: Bleach, Charcoal and...Burt's Bees |

In an unexpected deal worth $950 million, the bleach makers Clorox have acquired the leading natural personal care brand Burt's Bees.
Clorox is paying 5.5 times Burt's Bees expected 2007 sales, but Burt's has been growing at a compound annual rate of 25% over the past three years. Burt's business to date has focused on health and natural food stores and they are looking to expand. They successfully entered Target earlier this year and now have their sites set on Wal-Mart. Backed by Clorox, which does 26% of its sales through the retail giant, they can expect to find themselves on the Wal-Mart shelves in the near future. Read the full article at Ad Age |
