Bush Swaps Debt for Nature |

The Bush administration, Costa Rica, Conservation International, and The Nature Conservancy will today announce a "debt-for-nature" swap. The United States will write off $12.6 million in debt owed it by Costa Rica, and in exchange Costa Rica will protect some of the most valuable rainforest wildlife habitat in the world. This is the second initiative of its kind, following a similar swap with Guatemala. Read the full article at Gristmill
