The magazine Real Simple has recently provided 8 great tips to reducing waste while shopping at your local grocery store. Anyone can implement these changes and they will have a large impact on the evironment.

The tips are as follows: 
1. Skip single-serving items
2. Purchase juice concentrates
3. Avoid disposable goods
4. Use your own canvas or string bags
5. Use produce bags only for moist or small, loose items
6. When possible, purchase goods in cans or glass
7. Look for multipurpose cleaners 
8. Purchase products that have been made from recycled materials

Energy Efficiency Tips from Michael Dell Print E-mail

Michael Dell, in a recent CIO interview provided five tips for energy efficiency:  
1. CEOs must be engaged in developing strategies. A top-down energy efficiency strategy works better than a bottom- or middle-up one.
2. Consolidating data centers and virtualization are logical first steps.
3. Make sure the IT and facilities departments both understand the metrics that are being used to measure the savings and have ironed out a way to share those savings.
4. Energy conservation is not a project for just one quarter or one fiscal year.
5. Supply chain or procurement partners should be held to the same green standards as your company.
